Here's what I've changed (everything else is exactly the same as Nemanja suggests, including Superstar difficulty and 6 min period time. However, I felt like changing some of the settings to my own preference.
I have found this article by the great (I am sure he is) Nemanja Ostojic, so all the credit goes there. Then I decided to look up the alternative sliders settings.
With Pro difficulty it was way too easy, but with All-Star it felt like a bad joke on me. With NHL 22, however, I have been struggling with the unbalanced gameplay for some time. In the past, every game got way too easy for me at some point even on a highest difficulty so I had to adjust sliders to make it more challenging. I have been playing EA NHL games since PC era (starting from NHL 99 and finishing with the final PC game - NHL 09), and then turned to Xbox 360 (last game for me was NHL 14), and now when I've bought me a Series S I am back to the series.
After some games I quickly started to feel like these sliders were getting too easy, so I have made some adjustments that seemed to have turned the challenge up a bit.
